It has been nearly ten years since the site was born, in May of 1998. From my point of view, the purposes I set out to achieve with this website were accomplished some time ago. They included making information available relating to the Daist religious cult, creating a space for former Daists to express their thoughts and experiences, and in general facilitating discussion on spiritual matters. The momentum of the project has kept me going -- that and the continuous flow of interesting and provocative discussion. But from the beginning I knew there would be an inevitable "moment" when I would end my participation as webmaster. That moment has come.

At the beginning of 2007, I realized that this year would probably be my last year operating this website & its forums. I might continue to post, if the site somehow managed to perpetuate itself, but other projects were pulling me in other directions and taking the lionshare of my time. Now that September has come, I know my New Year's realization was right, and it is time to set things in motion.

The first step is to offer the website and associated domain names to any qualified purchaser or purchasers who want to operate them -- or even resell them.

The sale can take several forms: It can include everything -- domain names and existing files & archives & forums, etc. (including archives stored offline). Or, I will sell the domain names lightmind.com and lightgate.net individually or together. I am also open to transferring possession of content by itself, to somebody who wants to move it to their pre-existing domain. To a purchaser who needs technical help, I am able to offer my assistance for up to six months from the date of purchase.

If an agreement for transferral of ownership is not accomplished by December 31 of this year, I will simply shut down the site and park the domains for possible use at a later time.
